The CD-ROM contains a navigable version of the Technical Manual with
click-and-retrieve high-resolution images. A complete set of 2D CAD drawings in AutoCAD
R14, AutoCAD-LT, and R12-level dxf formats is included, along with 3D models of each
engine. 2D drawings can be viewed, panned, zoomed, and printed using the plug-in included
on the CD. 3D models can be viewed, panned, zoomed, rotated, rendered, measured, and
exported to iges, Pro-E, SolidWorks, and many other formats using a free program included
on the CD. Video clips in avi format are also included. |
The 20,000-word, 80-page,
8-1/2 x 11-inch manual includes detailed technical and applications information, as well
as step-by-step construction procedures. Replete with graphs, drawings, renderings,
and photos (over 100).
The technical section begins with an overview of the principles of operation, and a look
at horsepower versus jet thrust. This is followed by the in-depth technical discussion,
which covers the engineering factors of the engine, and includes equations, illustrations,
and examples. It also shows the construction of the Teaching Stand, which is essentially a
diagnostic test-stand that could be used to troubleshoot a jet or document the results of
experimental modifications.
The second half of the manual covers the nuts and bolts of building and using the jet. It
includes drawings showing how to set it up for various types of applications (rotary wing,
glider auxiliary power, etc), and lift and power graphs of Mr. Gluhareffs one-man
helicopters. It also includes illustrations and a speed/thrust graph of the MEG-600 jet
aircraft (a BD-5 style aircraft designed by Mr. Gluhareff ). The section on actual
construction describes part-by-part how the engine is built. Construction steps are
illustrated with photos of the engine at various stages of construction, and renderings of
particular operations. |
